I have started a new photography project: to take and post one photo each day in 2010 taken with my iPhone. I’ve always wanted to do a 365, but the thought of carrying around my big dslr, finding something to shoot, processing, and posting everyday… OH and also working, raising a child, being a wife and all that life in general entails, seemed way too daunting. I do however carry my iPhone with me everywhere and have really enjoyed experimenting with its on board camera and processing. So my first project 365 will be with my iPhone. I am very excited about this project. With each project I do, I always grow and learn so much. I’ll be posting this iphoneography project on my daily photo blog, or you can follow me of twitter, where I’ll be tweeting about them. Business as usual will of course continue concurrent to this new project and I have MANY new plans for 2010 and beyond that I am way excited about! Happy New Year!!

The Resolve Revisited
December 19, 2009I posted some photos a while back for a special project I was working on called The Resolve. The Resolve is a worship album created by the band at my church, Kinetic Church. They released the album last month and it’s currently available for purchase through iTunes and Amazon. I highly recommend this modern worship album, not only because it’s amazing, but also because my husband plays on it :). I also wanted to showcase the album artwork and original photo used to create it. Below is the album cover which was designed by the incredibly talented lead pastor, Dave Milam. He used the photograph I took below it as a basis for the design.

The Resolve | A Special Project
November 3, 2009I worked on a project a couple months ago that required me to do a photo shoot of a sweet little boy named Alex. I can’t divulge many details about the project yet, but I wanted to post some of photos I took for it. I know one thing for sure, there are some amazingly talented people in Charlotte and I am privileged to be able to work with them.

My Little Spider | Personal Story
November 3, 2009My little boy is two years old, so Halloween was especially fun this year. I dressed him up as the Itsy Bitsy Spider and he made the cutest little spider I have ever seen! Of course, once he realized that he could pull the costume off by ripping the velcro on the front, he would no longer keep it on. I did manage to capture a few shots of all the cuteness before the velcro discovery (and before the rain started).

Myrtle Beach | Personal Story
November 3, 2009Recently I took a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with a large group of women from my church. We all had a great time and I was able to take a few picture while we were there. We stayed near the end of the famous strip, but there were very few people there… it was almost like a ghost town. The weather was just gorgeous though. I think October might actually be a great time to vacation there!

Race for the Cure 2009
October 17, 2009This year I had the distinguished honor of being one of the official photographers for the Komen Charlotte Race for the Cure in Charlotte, NC. Each photographer was assigned to a certain area and mine were the actual race and the survivor ceremony. This event was especially important to me because it’s the first race since my own mother’s breast cancer diagnosis. She was able to attend and even walked the race with me! The Komen Charlotte race had over 14,000 participants and raised over $1.3M. It was quite an event to be a part of. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day, including one of me and my mom!

Diptych Daisy Meets the Gallery
September 5, 2009A while back I entered one of my Project50 photos into The Light Factory’s annual member show. The show ends tomorrow and I was finally able to go by today and see my photograph on display alongside many other great works by other Light Factory members. All the pieces in the show are also for sale. The same photograph is available for purchase in my Etsy shop. Here is a photo of my photo on display along with a photo that my darling husband took of me with it (there is a reason why I’m always the one behind the camera… I hate posing!).
